PRINCIPAL NEWS: Blessed Sacrament Hires New Principal

For 100 years Blessed Sacrament has been synonymous with educational excellence, strong Catholic faith formation and a supportive, loving community. Today, and in the future, we remain committed to continuing this legacy. After concluding our nationwide search for our principal position, we were able to interview several qualified candidates. The members of the search committee represented former parents, faculty, and administration. After the initial interview via zoom we were able to bring the top two candidates for an on campus visit at the beginning of Holy Week. After prayer and careful consideration, Mrs. Alison Gammage will be named as our new principal. Mrs. Gammage is a passionate Catholic educator, a graduate of Oxford University in the UK, and American University in Washington D.C. She has spent nearly 30 years as an educator and administrator, designing pedagogy based on research, and raising money to support educational programs for underserved students. Her true passion is working and advocating for parents and teachers with the goal of helping children reach their potential. She has held several leadership positions: most recently at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh NC, Executive Director of a startup nonprofit for underserved youth, and Lower School Head of St. Timothy’s School in Raleigh. She was previously the Founder and Director of the Teaching and Learning Center at The National Cathedral School for Girls in Washington D.C. and is a regular presenter at national and state conferences. While Mrs. Gammage possesses the background and experience required for the role of principal, she has also faithfully demonstrated critical characteristics to keep our school moving forward. She has a genuine love of children, the proven ability to organize and lead reliably, and a dedicated work ethic. Mrs. Gammage will assume the role of Principal on July 1, 2024. We look forward to an exciting new chapter in our Blessed Sacrament legacy.
