Your Generosity: A Pillar of Our Success

At Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, financial contributions form the backbone of our efforts to build and sustain a future where every child can achieve their fullest potential. Like most Catholic schools, we run our daily operations from funding like tuition and fees, which covers approximately 75% of the cost to educate our students. The remaining 25% is met through the generosity of our families, alumni, and the support of our parish. Your contributions, big or small, make a profound difference. Great Catholic schools are able to thrive and transform educational experiences because of the impact of your gifts.

Guide to Giving

Parents, grandparents, and alumni will often ask what an appropriate gift might be or ways to contribute. Every financial donation makes a difference, and the school is deeply appreciative. Blessed Sacrament typically encourages our community to regard the school as one of their top three philanthropic priorities and to give according to their means. Our aim is to boost contirbutions from all donor groups within our community. What truly matters is participation.

The Irish Society

Blessed Sacrament’s culture of philanthropy supports and sustains our remarkable teachers, programs, and community. We’re pleased to introduce the Irish SocietyThis society will recognize friends and supporters whose total giving to the school is $5,000.oo or more, annually.

The generosity of donors at this level turns visions into reality- from creating cutting-edge STEM+ facilities and programs, to developing a robust Student Wellness and Support program, to ensuring our Catholic values and educational framework remains an integral part of everything we do.

We invite you to join the Irish Societynurturing the dreams and fulfilling the promise of The IrishYour experience will include exclusive invitations to annual events that highlight the impact of your support and gain insider knowledge of the school’s strategy and vision.

Ways to Support Blessed Sacrament

Annual Fund

Blessed Sacrament School Annual Fund

The Blessed Sacrament School Annual Fund is the foundation of the school’s yearly fundraising efforts. We are grateful to the many parents, grandparents, School Board, faculty and staff, alumni, and community friends who give to our school financially each year.

The Annual Fund touches so many aspects of the school, including the support of program enhancements and campus upgrades. This fund helps support athletics and fine arts programs with equipment and supplies, and the classrooms and media center with books and technology. The Annual Fund also supports critical and innovative professional development for our faculty and staff.

Annual Fund dollars must be spent in the school year in which they are given, so the faculty, staff, and students feel first-hand the immediate effects of Annual Fund support.

We aspire to 100% participation by our families, faculty and staff, and the School Board. This achievement is critical to the financial health of Blessed Sacrament School and to securing matching funds from corporations. This year, please consider giving generously by joining one of our giving levels. You are also able to set up a recurring monthly or annual gift.

Contribute to the Blessed Sacrament School Foundation

Blessed Sacrament Church parishioners and school alumni established the Foundation in 1983, to ensure the legacy and future of Blessed Sacrament School. Support for this fund has been crucial; in fact, nearly $1 million contributed from it played a vital role in completing our Seeds of Change renovation in 2017.

Financial contributions to the Foundation can be made at the donor’s discrecion throughout any academic year, empowering the community to play an active role in the development and enhancement of our school. These funds are maintained and invested in a fund that generates interest.

Monthly or annual gifts may be made by completing the Foundation form  or by submitting a check payable to “BSS Foundation”. Checks can be mailed directly to the school or our endowment administrator:  Raymond James, 530 Stephenson Avenue, Suite 100, Savannah, GA 31405. Please reach out to Megan Hussey Johnson (megan.johnson@raymondjames.com, 912-692-1040) or Katie Tambon (ktambon@bss-savannah.org, 912-298-5457) with questions.

Thank you for your support of the Foundation and your continued investment in Blessed Sacrament School!

Other Ways to Give

Checks/Cash

Donations can be made via check or cash directly to our school. Donors should make checks payable to “Blessed Sacrament Catholic School” and note in the memo line if it is for the Annual Fund or School Foundation.

Qualified Charitable Distribution

Consider making a Qualified Charitible Distribution (QCD) from your IRA to our school or Foundation. This method benefits donors age 70.5 or older, allowing them to transfer up to $100,000.00 annually from their IRA directly to a charity without it being treated as taxable income.

Planned Giving

Leaving a legacy through planned giving impacts Blessed Sacrament’s future significantly. Planned gifts can be made with cash or assets like stocks and real estate, offering tax benefits to the donor.

Gifts in Kind

We welcome gifts in kind, where goods and services are donated instead of cash. These contributions are acknowledged with a receipt for your tax filings.

Foundation or Corporate Giving

If your organization or foundation is interested in supporting Catholic education at Blessed Sacrament School, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss potential collaboration. Please contact us!
