BSS Kicks Off Advent with Acts of Service

More than 140 volunteers joined us on Sunday, December 2, to sort and pack stockings for local senior citizens as part of our first-ever Christmas Family Day of Service. School families collected ‘wish list’ items from local senior citizen agencies throughout the month of November, and students worked together to create handmade stockings to be stuffed with all of the goodies. Families were invited to help sort the donated items, stuff the stockings and write personal cards to be included in each of the more than 400 stockings. The stockings packed full of holiday cheer will be delivered to Azalealand, EmployAbility, Social Apostolate, Williams Court and Senior Citizens, Inc.

There are still a few spots remaining on December 19-20 for families to help deliver stockings to seniors! Please contact Kathleen Benton at bentonkd@sjchs.org for more information.
