Curriculum Night: A Night for Parents Only

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Savannah, Georgia is seeking to hire a part-time Development Director immediately to manage and execute development strategies that support the capital campaign and ongoing fundraising efforts. Working collaboratively with the parish staff and volunteers, the Development Director researches and pursues fundraising opportunities including grants and special events, cultivates relationships with major donors, and secures financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations. The Development Director maintains a strategic focus on overall development goals and continually monitors, evaluates, and adapts fundraising strategies as necessary. Ideal candidates will have a minimum 2-3 years non-profit and/or development and grant writing experience, experience with contact management software, familiarity with the Savannah community, and the ability to represent the parish and its needs while upholding behaviors and actions reflective of the Catholic faith.

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a part-time Music Director, beginning July 1, to lead the musical component of all parish Masses, including but not limited to weekend Masses and Masses for Holy Days of Obligation, in accordance with the liturgical calendar. In collaboration with the parish pastor, the Music Director recruits and trains the parish organist(s), musicians and cantors, coordinates music for special events (e.g., weddings and funerals), leads the adult and children’s choirs of the parish, selects music and associated books for pastor approval, and enhances the parish’s celebration of the Catholic faith through music. Ideal candidates will have formal vocal training and/or significant music experience, including the ability to read music and sing at a performance level. Bachelor’s degree in Music and choir experience in a leadership role preferred. Knowledge of Catholic liturgy required for the appropriate selection of music.

Preferred candidates are able to play piano and organ, conduct performances of musicians and singers, and manage technical audio equipment.

Be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, March 28, 2015 for our annual fundraiser. The festivities will begin at 6:30PM. The Fabulous Clams Band will provide enterainment for the evening. There will be horse racing with amazing prizes, silent auction bidding and a live auction.  For more information see the attached flyer.
