The Mission for the Month of October: Special Olympics

Abilities Unlimited, Incorporated provides training support at Cohen’s gym for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Members train weekly in weight training to compete in the Special Olympics in January. Participants struggle to pay registration and travel to this important event.

For the month of October, students at Blessed Sacrament will raise money for this event. In addition as part of the Service Learning 4th grade students will learn about developmental disabilities with efforts through the year to partner and form relationships with the folks at Abilities Unlimited who tran for Special Olympics.

Welcome to the Leader in ME

Blessed Sacrament School has adopted the Leader In Me leadership program! The Leader in Me is Franklin Covey's whole school transformation process! It teaches 21st century leadership and life skills to students and creates a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader.Children must be knowledgeable when they graduate, healthy, engaged, responsible, caring and faith filled people. The Leader in Me provides our school with the vision and language to lead the school in a way that addresses all areas of development. As each child discovers and develops his or her unique gifts and talents, they are given opportunities to lead. As leaders, they become active, engaged partners in their own education and their self-confidence, responsibility and initiative grows. The children quickly understand the benefits of different gifts and talents. They learn to listen to new ideas, work together to achieve results, and motivate one another to be the best! We hope our school enjoys sharing these new opportunities. Together, we will watch each and every child grow throughout the year! BSS families, Look for the monthly Leader In Me Newsletter in your email! To learn more about the Leader In Me program, go to our school website: www.bss-savannah.org or BSS families may find more information in RenWeb!

Please plan to join us on Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 12:00-6:00PM in the BSS gym for the Leader in Me Parent Taining. See the Leader in Me flyer attached for details and how to reserve your spot!
